Getting Here and Getting Around
Mae Taeng is just 45 minutes from the moat but we are a world away from the tourist traps of the city.  
Easy to get to by hired car or shared van or taxi, and fixed-route songtaew for only 26 baht.  Taxi service from the airport is also available - give us some leadtime and we can arrange for someone to meet your flight.  Once you’re here we can help arrange local transportation.  Car rentals are best done in Chiang Mai – however we can help with local motorcycle rentals.

Things to Do
Great location with easy access to Chiang Mai and the many site-seeing attractions of the area including waterfalls, wats, and Elephant Nature Park (20 min); Chiang Dao (30 min); Ngat Dam & Sri Lanna Park (20 min).
Read a book; write a book; use the guesthouse as a base for exploring, or as a low-key getaway.  Listen to the birds in the trees instead of traffic in the streets.  Enjoy excellent Thai massage.  Witness monks making their morning rounds.  Walk to a decorated bridge over the Mae Taeng River.   Go on a FREE bicycle tour (when available) through the villages, farms and hills.  Visit some great nearby restaurants.  Walk to neighborhood markets, meet the locals and take advantage of an open invitation to all community events.  Learn about local northern Thai food and how to make som tom spicy papaya salad from the district champion!  Explore our extensive orchid garden.  Eat, drink, read, relax and socialize at the guesthouse Garden Terrace.
